Not every opening uses the same frame. Here are the three window installation styles we work with most often.
Used when the opening is framed for a nail-fin window. The fin is fastened to the wood framing and integrated with flashing before the exterior finish is completed.
Used for openings with an existing sill and wood molding around the window. The block-frame window has no nail fin and is installed directly into the prepared opening.
Used for replacement work where the existing window frame stays in place. The new retrofit window fits over the existing frame and is sealed around the exterior.
Measured and installed for a clean finished opening.
